Julio is a full-time chef and ice carver working in Mexico City, when he's not traveling around the world to sculpt ice and teach ice sculpting to eager new particpants. Julio is a regular volunteer for Ice Alaska to help make this event happen each year. He has been carving ice for ten years and 2015 will be his 7th year competing at the BP World Ice Art Championships.

Julio's 2013 Multi Block Team entry "Extreme Ice" won 3rd Place and the Governor's Award, and had the added honor of being featured on the 2014 Event Post Card.
